Back to Reading
in 7 Nights

For the evenings when you miss reading,
but choosing a book feels like one more job.

Seven short stories in one little collection. A place to begin again, with no reading streak to protect and no catching up to do.

One story. A little time that feels like yours.

A gentler way back

Less deciding.
More reading.

I'm putting together the kind of collection I would have wanted after years away from books.

  1. Something to open tonight

Seven short stories gathered in a phone-friendly PDF, so you can start without shopping for a new book.

  2. A little company on the page

A brief note before each story: what kind of evening it may suit, when to skip it, and one small thing to try.

  3. Permission to go at your pace

Five pages count. So does stopping when you've had enough. Miss a night? Pick up where you left off.

A note from Poonam

Reading can be yours again.

For more than eleven years, I didn't read. I didn't stop loving books. Life got busy, and reading was the thing that kept slipping.

Off Default is where I share my way back. Books first, then the rest of life. This little collection is the next thing I'm making for us.

A few things you might wonder

Can I download it now?

Not yet. I'm still preparing the collection. I'll share it on Off Default when it's ready.

Do I have to finish in seven nights?

No. Seven nights is an invitation, not a deadline. Read a little, skip a night, or return to a story you enjoyed.

Which stories will be included?

The final selection is still being reviewed. The finished guide will name every story and author and include notes to help you choose.

Will it cost anything?

The PDF will be free. Details about signing up and receiving emails will be shown here before signups open.

While you wait

You don't need the guide
to read a little tonight.

Leave one book where you sit. Open it when you have a small gap.
Five pages count.
